Auger with double center flighting on 60-in. (152-cm) Heavy-Duty Snow Blower
60-in. (152-cm) Heavy-Duty Snow Blower
The low-speed auger picks up snow and moves it toward the center of the machine into the high-speed impeller, where it is blown out of the discharge chute.
To increase snow processing capabilities the Heavy-Duty Snow Blowers feature:
- 23-in. (584-mm) housing height
- 7.25-in. (184-mm) spout diameter
- 16-in. (406-mm) diameter auger with double center flighting
- Two drift cutters
Front 3-point hitch with A-frame quick attach system
Front 3-point hitch and A-frame quick attach system
Snow blower portion of A-frame quick attach system installed on snow blower
The heavy-duty snow blowers mount using a front 3-point hitch. Advantages of front 3-point hitch mounting are:
- Robust construction designed for added strength and longer life than a quick-hitch
- Consistent levelness throughout lift travel that improves snow placement
- Higher lift heights that increase maneuverability around uneven sidewalks and curbs
- On a 1025R Tractor, a heavy-duty snow blower lifts 1 in. (25 mm) higher than the quick-hitch snow blower.
- Faster implement changes as portions of the front 3-point hitch can remain on the tractor when a loader or mid-mount mower deck is installed
- The 3-point hitch’s A-frame quick attach system is an industry standard Category 0/1N design
- Shared with the 366 Front Blade and 60-in. (152-cm) Heavy-Duty Rotary Broom, allowing for tool-free, quick change between implements*
*NOTE: 60-in. (152-cm) Heavy-Duty Brooms use a front 3-point hitch on 3033R-3046R, 3120-3720, model year 2017 and newer 2032R, and 2038R Tractors. Does not apply to 60-in. (152-cm) Heavy-Duty Brooms installed using a quick-hitch on 1023E, 1025R, 1026R, and 2025R Tractors.
Telescoping drive shaft
Close-up of heavy-duty helical gearbox
The telescoping universal joint drive shaft provides easy attachment.
The heavy-duty cast-iron helical gearcase drives the impeller to maximize the engine horsepower and gives excellent throwing capacity and distance.
Durable auger drive
The worm gear drive features the following:
- Durable cast-iron housing
- 5-to-1 reduction driving the snow-collecting augers at the most effective speed
- Tapered roller bearings on both the input and output shafts for long life
- Large output shafts, 1.25 in. (3.2 cm) in diameter, supported at each end of the auger housing by sealed ball bearings for smooth operation
- Shear bolts (at the outer end of each half of the auger), protecting the auger and drive system from damage if a chunk of ice or other solid object should get caught in the auger
- Four spare shear bolts in storage holes, located on the auger housing
Hydraulic chute control
The chute can be rotated hydraulically 200 degrees (patent number 4,409,748):
- Allows blowing snow in desired direction
- Faster and more convenient than manual control
- Tractor must be equipped with dual selective control valve (SCV)
Spout deflector
The spout deflector can be changed manually to control the height in which snow is blown.
